Sylvain Landry Birane FAYE est actuellement Professeur Titulaire des Universités en sociologie et anthropologie à l’Université Cheikh Anta DIOP de Dakar (SENEGAL). Titulaire d’un PhD en anthropologie sociale et culturelle de l’Université Victor Segalen Bordeaux2, il est spécialisé en socio-anthropologie de la santé et en recherche évaluative des politiques et systèmes de santé en Afrique. Il possède une vaste expérience dans la lutte contre les épidémies et mène aussi des recherches sur les essais vaccinaux contre Ébola ; les interventions d'urgence et la communication sur les risques en santé. Ses domaines de recherches actuelles concernent les dimensions éthiques et décoloniales de l’intelligence artificielle appliquée au domaine de la santé. Pr Faye est le principal investigateur de AI4-DECLIC SN “Artificial Intelligence and Hybrid modeling for Community-based early detection of zoonotic disease in the context of climate change in Senegal (2023-2028).

Sylvain Landry Birane FAYE is currently a Full Professor of Sociology and Anthropology at Cheikh Anta Diop University in Dakar (Senegal). He holds a PhD in Social and Cultural Anthropology from Victor Segalen Bordeaux 2 University and specializes in the socio-anthropology of health and the evaluative research of health policies and systems in Africa. He has extensive experience in the fight against epidemics, and also conducts research on Ebola vaccine trials, emergency response, and health risk communication. His current research focuses on the ethical and decolonial dimensions of artificial intelligence applied to healthcare. Professor Faye is the Principal Investigator of AI4-DECLIC SN “Artificial Intelligence and Hybrid Modeling for Community-Based Early Detection of Zoonotic Diseases in the Context of Climate Change in Senegal, (2023–2028)”.
