Marie Thérèse MENGUE est Docteur en sciences sociales et Professeur titulaire en sociologie.
Enseignante chercheur à la faculté de sciences sociales et de gestion, elle est actuellement Présidente du Conseil Scientifique de l’Université Catholique d’Afrique Centrale, Chef de Département socio-anthropologie et Directrice de l’Ecole Doctorale en Sciences Sociales. Elle dirige le Laboratoire de recherche IPIS (Institut des politiques et Initiatives sociales) et est membre du réseau international de ’innovation et de la prospective. Ancien membre de la CSS4 (Commission Scientifique Sectorielle des sciences humaines et sociales de l’IRD (Institut de Recherche pour le Développement), elle a été Vice Doyen de la faculté de sciences sociales et de Gestion de l’UCAC. Elle a publié une vingtaine d’articles dans le domaine des politiques sociales. Elle a participé à plusieurs projets de recherche en sciences sociales : deux derniers projets de recherche coordonnés : « Entre Confiance et suspicion : Analyser les médias sociaux pour affiner les réponses de santé publique à la Covid-19 au Cameroun » (MEDIACAM)” Avec le financement de l’ANRS Paris –France ; “Upskilling for future generations (GEN-UP): How can a gender and generation approach re-vision technical and vocational educational training (TVET) as a vehicle for genuine social transformation for slum-dwelling young women in Sierra Leone and Cameroon? (GEN-UP)” avec la faculty d’anthropologie d’Oxford Brookes University; Elle dirige actuellement la revue intitulée « Cahier de l’UCAC » et le dernier numéro porte sur les politiques sociales et le développement humain en Afrique. Trois derniers ouvrages à signaler : Transition humanitaire au Cameroun, Karthala, Paris, 2023 ; Les handicaps en contexte africain. De l’éthique aux pratiques, Presses de l’UCAC, Yaoundé, 2021 ; La nouveauté du patrimoine, éd. Ifriqiya, col. Patrimoines, Yaoundé, 2015.

Marie Thérèse MENGUE holds a doctorate in social sciences and is a full professor of sociology. A research professor at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Management, she currently serves as the President of the Scientific Council of the Catholic University of Central Africa (UCAC), Head of the Socio-Anthropology Department and Director of the Doctoral School in Social Sciences. She also leads the IPIS Research Laboratory (Institute of Policies and Social Initiatives) and is a member of the International Network for Innovation and Foresight. A former member of the CSS4 (Sectoral Scientific Commission for Human and Social Sciences) of IRD (Research Institute for Development), she was Vice-Dean of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Management at UCAC. Marie Thérèse MENGUE has published around twenty articles in the field of social policies. She has participated in several social science research projects. Her last two coordinated research project were: “Between Trust and Suspicion: Analyzing Social Media to Refine Public Health Responses to COVID-19 in Cameroon” (MEDIACAM), funded by ANRS Paris – France; “Upskilling for Future Generations (GEN-UP): How can a Gender and Generation Approach Re-Vision Technical and Vocational Educational Training (TVET) as a Vehicle for Genuine Social Transformation for Slum-Dwelling Young Women in Sierra Leone and Cameroon? (GEN-UP)” in collaboration with the Faculty of Anthropology at Oxford Brookes University; She is currently the Editor-in-Chief of the journal “Cahier de l’UCAC”, with the latest issue focusing on social policies and human development in Africa.
