The authors agree to publish their articles under the Creative Commons Attribution — Non Commercial (CC BY-NC 4.0) license. This is the license under which all content published in Global Africa is distributed.

What this license allows

The CC BY-NC 4.0 license enables the articles to be shared, copied, reproduced, distributed, communicated, reused and adapted by any means and in any format. All uses of the work or derivative works, except for commercial purposes, are permitted.

Reuse of open-access material is allowed without further permission, provided that appropriate credit is given to the original author(s) and source, as well as a link to the Creative Commons license, and that all modifications made are clearly stated.

04 — Repository policy

Self-Archiving Policy

Global Africa allows authors to deposit the submitted, accepted and published versions of their papers in an institutional or other repository without embargo, with the agreement of their co-authors. Authors must indicate the URL of the original article published in Global Africa.

The original submitted manuscript (before peer review) may be deposited in a repository at any time.

Accepted version
Post-print
The accepted manuscript (after peer review, before typesetting) may be deposited immediately upon acceptance.

Version of record
The final published PDF may be deposited in a repository immediately upon publication, with link to the DOI.

Condition: When depositing any version, authors must provide the full bibliographic reference and a link to the original published article on the Global Africa website, including the assigned DOI.

05 — Preservation

Long-term Archiving

To ensure long-term archiving, all issues of Global Africa are archived on the journal's website and through long-term digital preservation systems. The journal is committed to ensuring permanent access to all published content.

All articles are permanently hosted on the Global Africa website in both HTML and PDF formats, freely accessible without registration or subscription.

All issues of Global Africa are archived through the Internet Archive long-term preservation system, ensuring content remains accessible even if the journal website were to become unavailable.

Institutional Repositories
Authors are encouraged to deposit their work in their institutional repository. Global Africa supports self-archiving in open repositories without embargo for all versions of manuscripts.

Articles are indexed in major academic databases and repositories to ensure discoverability and long-term citability. See our Referencing & Indexing page for the complete list of databases.
06 — Identifiers

DOI & Persistent Identifiers

A Digital Object Identifier (DOI) is assigned to each article published in Global Africa. The DOI provides a permanent, stable link to the article and enables unambiguous citation and identification of published works, regardless of changes in URL structure or hosting platforms.

DOI Assignment
Every article receives a unique DOI upon publication. Authors should use the DOI in all citations and references to their published work (e.g. https://doi.org/10.XXXXX/XXXXX).

Citing Published Work
When disseminating or citing your published article, always include the full bibliographic reference and the DOI. This ensures proper attribution and enables readers to locate the original publication.

Metadata & Indexing
Full article metadata (title, authors, abstract, keywords, DOI) is submitted to indexing databases upon publication to ensure maximum discoverability and citability in the global research community.
