KAMDOM NGUEMDJOM Rita Charlie was born in 1996 in Tougang-ville in Bafoussam. She is a PhD can candidate in sociology at the University de Dschang, where she obtained her master’s degree with honors and has consistently demonstrated academic excellence and commitment throughout her studies. Since 2021, she has been pursuing doctoral research while simultaneously gaining professional experience through fieldwork, research and administrative responsivities.
She has worked as a data collector on several significant projects, including the Baleveng toll automation project, which focused on evaluating the real estate assets of local population for compensation purposes, as well as the oral genealogy project driven by FamilySearch. She equally participated in a research project on the reproductive health of young couples in the towns of Bafoussam and Dschang, aimed at analysing their knowledge on reproductive health services, medical examinations and preventive care before marriage.
Parallel to her studies she works in an enterprise in the department of Human Resources, where she gained valuable experience in administration, communication. Moreover, she participated in the first symposium of Young African Scholars and published her academic article in collaboration with a faculty mentor. Her research interests focus on sociology, gender informal entrepreneurship and social network. She is currently completing her doctoral dissertation and preparing for her thesis defense.
