Josiane Tantchou is an anthropologist with a PhD from the École des Hautes Études en Sciences Sociales (EHESS) in Paris, currently based at the Centre Jacques Berque (Morocco). Her research has focused on healthcare policies and systems in Africa, with a historical foundation. She has specifically studied policies aimed at combating tuberculosis, sleeping sickness, and HIV/AIDS. In recent years, her work has expanded to explore the relationships between healthcare workers' working conditions and "burnout," a syndrome of professional exhaustion, as well as the adoption of medical technologies.
