Fred Eboko, Dr HDR, is a political scientist and Senior Researcher at the French Institute of Research for Development (IRD). He is also a member of the Population and Development Center (CEPED: IRD-Université Paris Cité). Since 2020, he has been the IRD representative in Abidjan. Dr. Eboko has been working on HIV/AIDS and other public policy issues in Africa for nearly 25 years. He has taught courses at the School of International Affairs in Paris (Sciences Po Paris), at the University of Paris Sorbonne, as well as at the University Cheikh Anta Diop of Dakar and the University Gaston Berger of Saint Louis (Senegal). He is the author of more than 100 articles and several books on topics related to politics, public health, particularly the fight against HIV/AIDS, and social mobilization. Fred Eboko is the vice president of Epicentre-MSF, the epidemiological research center of Médecins Sans Frontières – France, and is also a board member of the newly established Foundation for Innovation in Democracy, launched by Professor Achille Mbembe and French President Emmanuel Macron following the 2021 Africa-France Summit. Fred Eboko has been actively involved in the debate on Covid-19 in Africa since the beginning of the pandemic, contributing to various media and scientific platforms on the subject.
