Fanny Attas is a PhD candidate in anthropology affiliated with the École Normale Supérieure de Lyon (Triangle), the French National Research Institute for Sustainable Development (IRD, TransVIHMI), and the Center for Research and Training in Infectiology of Guinea (CERFIG). She holds degrees in political science from Sciences Po Aix-en-Provence and in social anthropology from the London School of Economics and Political Science.
From 2020 to 2022, she served as an international volunteer supporting social science research at IRD (TransVIHMI) and CERFIG in Conakry, Guinea. During this time, she conducted research on the Covid-19 and Ebola epidemics, as well as broader studies on the Guinean healthcare system and maternal health.
Since October 2022, she has been pursuing her doctoral studies in anthropology at ENS Lyon (Triangle) in collaboration with CERFIG and IRD. Her research employs an ontological approach to investigate the establishment of epidemic surveillance networks and the diverse modes of care in Guinea.
