Elizabeth Abena Osei is a PhD student at the University of Maryland, College Park, with a focus on Black Speculative Fiction, specifically Afrofuturism and Africanfuturism. She has an MA in Comparative English Studies, Literature, and American Culture from Heinrich-Heine Universität, Düsseldorf, an MPhil in English Literature from the University of Ghana. Abena has won the African Literature Association's Best Graduate Student Essay Award for 2022. She is a talented scholar with a strong research background and a passion for Black Speculative Fiction.
