Economic Investigations Commissioner and graduate of Senegal’s École Nationale d’Administration (ENA), Assane Diankha holds a Master’s in Business Law from Université Gaston Berger in Saint-Louis, Senegal. He is currently Head of the Services Trade and E-Commerce Division at the Ministry of Trade, where he serves as an expert negotiator for the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA) on issues related to trade in services, digital trade, and trade-related intellectual property rights.
As a member of the National Working Group on E-Commerce, he oversees the implementation of Senegal’s National E-Commerce Development Strategy. Appointed as an Expert in the AfCFTA’s Digital Trade Committee and Services Trade Committee, Assane Diankha served as Rapporteur for the African Union’s Technical Working Group on Services Trade from November 2018 to November 2019 and as Chair of the AfCFTA’s Services Trade Committee from 2020 to 2021.
A speaker and author of scientific articles, Assane Diankha co-authored a paper published in the Repères et Perspectives Économiques journal in February 2022, titled “AfCFTA and Structural Change in West Africa: The Relevance of Smart Specialization Strategies in Côte d'Ivoire and Senegal.”
