Biography
Toziny Viva ELIANAH is an Associate Professor at the University of Toliara (Madagascar), where she also serves as Head of Communications. She also teaches at the Institut de Formation Technique de Toliara. Holding a PhD in Social Geography since 2025, her thesis examined women's adaptation strategies in the face of food insecurity in South-West Madagascar, through a resolutely gendered ethnographic approach. Her research covers gender and patriarchy, food insecurity, disaster and risk management, power and substantive democracy, as well as meaning-making and traditional medicine.
