Overview
After making the corrections requested by the editorial board and after final acceptance of the article, the author will send to the editorial board the final version of their article in Word format, again accompanied by all illustrations. If figures, graphs, photographs, etc. are part of the manuscript, they should be provided in digital format (eps, tiff, jpg) in separate files.
Article Categories
The articles are categorized under the following headings. Before submitting your article, please ensure that it meets the required standards.
Presentation of Manuscripts
For all sections, the manuscript must include the following elements:
-
A meaningful title in the chosen language
-
Author contact information: first name, last name, discipline, organization to which they belong (laboratory or service, city, country, e-mail)
-
The email address of the corresponding author, identified by an asterisk (*)
-
An abstract in the language of the article
-
For Critical Issues and (Re)Discoveries, a separate résumé from the introduction must inform readers of the origin of the research. The author must also specify whether their work has already been presented at a conference, and in this case give the references.
-
Five keywords related to the fields and themes of the journal, and three key keywords (e.g. dominant discipline for interdisciplinarity), medium (concerned), motif(s), geographical area
Formatting
The text, in Word format, is typed in Times New Roman font size 12 in black color, on A4 pages with 2.5 cm margins. It is one spacing with no spacing before or after. Each paragraph begins with a 1 cm indent for the text. All pages are numbered. Titles and subtitles will be bold and/or italic without ever being underlined or in locked caps.
| Element | Specification |
|---|---|
| Font | Times New Roman, 12pt, black |
| Page size | A4, margins 2.5 cm |
| Spacing | Single — no spacing before or after paragraphs |
| Indentation | 1 cm indent at beginning of each paragraph |
| Page numbering | All pages numbered |
| Headings | Bold and/or italic — never underlined or in locked caps |
| Capital letters | Avoid blocked capital letters; use italics for foreign words / technical terms |
| Acronyms | Written in upper case without periods (e.g. ISBN, ECOWAS); only first occurrence is written out in full |

| Quotations (> 40 words) | Set apart in a separate paragraph in quotation marks |

Names in a foreign language should be in italics. Roman numerals should be used for titles of periodicals, books, etc. cited in the text.
Artwork & Figures
The illustrations (tables, graphs, figures, photographs) are placed in the text following the call (line: 1, issue 1, Figure 1). They are numbered in Arabic numerals and accompanied by a brief explanatory caption. Captions and figures will be transmitted as files in .eps, .ps, .ppt, .jpg, .png or .tif format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi and photographs in .jpg format with a minimum resolution of 300 dpi.
-
A cartoon must be of high quality to allow direct reproduction. Re-editing will be done by the publisher.
-
It is the responsibility of the author to seek permission from the publisher and the authors concerned to reproduce any document (photograph, graph, figure or table) already published. The source must be mentioned.
-
Accepted formats: .eps · .ps · .ppt · .jpg · .png · .tif — minimum 300 dpi
Bibliographic References
The complete list of bibliographic references will be found at the end of the text, under the subheading "Bibliographical references". Only the bibliographic references actually cited in the text should be maintained, and all cited works should be referenced in the final bibliography, in alphabetical order — in the case of multiple references from the same author, they will be arranged in chronological order, starting with the surnames of the two authors, followed by the works compiled by the author and finally those of the author as co-author. In other cases, it is advisable to avoid long references that are forthcoming as much as possible. However, accepted (in-text) not yet published works will be included in the bibliographic reference, according to the name of the journal followed by the expression "In press".
For drafting the list, refer to the 7th edition of the APA standards available in their French version in the APA micro-guide available here.

Order of Presentation
The order of presentation of the manuscript is as follows:
- Title
- References of the author or authors
- Short summary in the language of the article
- Title and abstract (in French or English depending on the language of the article)
- Keywords (or résumé in applicable languages)
- Text with illustrations (tables, graphs, figures, photographs and their captions), as well as boxes, inserted in the text after their call

Proofs & Boxes
Proofs
-
The publisher sends the proofs to the author and a particular person for publication.
-
The author must return his/her corrections according to the instructions given by the publisher within the deadline that will be specified in the cover letter.
-
As soon as the issue is published, the corresponding author will receive a PDF file of his/her article as a reprint.
Boxes
The idea of "Boxes" envisaged by the author (bios, history of the topic addressed, clarification or various concepts, commented general statistics, definitions, various explanations, methodology clarification, etc.) should be inserted in Word format in the text following the author's instructions. The author must ensure that the length of these boxes is compatible with the total length of the text (technically, no more than 20% of the total number of characters).
Along the Flow
Global Africa continuously welcomes manuscripts for its various sections to disseminate texts that do not fit into the different sections but can make contributions but are related to the central themes covered by the journal. These articles will be part of the "varia".
