Chaque passage dans une galerie, une rue, une esplanade ou dans un caf\u00e9 d\u00e9voile des \u0153uvres uniques et fait r\u00e9sonner des vibrations qui d\u00e9crivent une Afrique en perp\u00e9tuel mouvement. Dak\u2019Art est un des lieux symboles de rencontre des talents du continent africain, de sa Diaspora et du monde. Chaque r\u00e9alisation, qu\u2019il s\u2019agisse d\u2019un tableau, d\u2019une repr\u00e9sentation ou d\u2019une installation, raconte une histoire originale. Les th\u00e9matiques abord\u00e9es par les artistes explorent aussi bien la r\u00e9silience, l\u2019h\u00e9ritage, les d\u00e9fis plan\u00e9taires que l\u2019histoire tout en r\u00e9adaptant mat\u00e9riaux et techniques. Intitul\u00e9e \u00ab The Wake, l\u2019\u00c9veil, X\u00e0ll wi \u00bb, selon, la directrice artistique de l\u2019\u00e9v\u00e8nement, Salimata Diop : La th\u00e9matique de la quinzi\u00e8me \u00e9dition de la Biennale de Dakar s\u2019inscrit dans une continuit\u00e9, un courant inarr\u00eatable qui embrasse un ensemble de temporalit\u00e9s : il s\u2019agit de lier le pass\u00e9 et l\u2019avenir en leur conf\u00e9rant une importance \u00e9gale. Elle est partiellement inspir\u00e9e de l\u2019ouvrage In the Wake: On Blackness and Black Being1 de la professeure Christina Sharpe qui examine la condition noire, ses repr\u00e9sentations litt\u00e9raires, visuelles et artistiques, en rapport avec les notions d\u2019exhumation, de deuil et d\u2019arrachement. On naviguera au fil de ce qu\u2019\u00e9voque le terme wake (\u00e9veil, sillage, veill\u00e9e mortuaire, gindiku2 ), qui d\u00e9ploie un riche \u00e9ventail s\u00e9mantique offrant finalement un pont culturel et m\u00e9taphorique entre art et soci\u00e9t\u00e9.3 Se promener \u00e0 Dakar durant le Dak\u2019Art c\u2019est prendre soin de soi, s\u2019octroyer une immersion \u00e9motionnelle unique, se d\u00e9tacher des gadgets et lire, regarder, \u00e9couter, des couleurs, des formes saisissantes, des mati\u00e8res, des pamphlets. Si les artefacts \u00e9merveillent, les discussions avec les artistes et les visiteurs font de chaque visite une exp\u00e9rience de rencontre m\u00e9morable.
