Je suis Ibrahima Mohamadou, jeune chercheur en histoire socioculturelle et visuelle à l'Université de Garoua (Cameroun). Titulaire d'une thèse de doctorat/Ph.D. Mes travaux portent sur les pratiques des archives de la photographie en Afrique, avec un ancrage majeur au Cameroun. Ma recherche examine la photographie comme fait social total, à la croisée des histoires techniques, des circulations transnationales et des constructions mémorielles. J'interroge particulièrement le rôle de l'image photographique dans la fabrique des identités sociales et politiques, des périodes coloniales et post-indépendance à l'ère contemporaine. Mes travaux ont été présentés dans plusieurs colloques internationaux et font l'objet de publications dans des revues spécialisées. Mon approche croise l'histoire sociale, l'anthropologie visuelle et les visual studies pour proposer une analyse fine des images comme faits sociaux totaux.

My name is Ibrahima Mohamadou, and I am a young researcher in sociocultural and visual history at the University of Garoua (Cameroon). I hold a PhD. My work focuses on photography archiving practices in Africa, with a particular focus on Cameroon. My research examines photography as a total social fact, at the crossroads of technical histories, transnational circulations, and memory constructions. I particularly question the role of the photographic image in the construction of social and political identities, from the colonial and post-independence periods to the contemporary era. My work has been presented at several international conferences and published in specialized journals. My approach combines social history, visual anthropology, and visual studies to offer a detailed analysis of images as total social phenomena.
